They steal a 15,000 euro watch from a driver in Sant Vicenç de Montalt

Last Friday, a resident of Sant Vicenç de Montalt (Maresme) reported the theft of a watch valued at 15,000 euros by the method of distraction. The victim was approached by a woman who then fled in a vehicle that was waiting for her.

According to the victim's story to La Vanguardia, the events took place on Mediterráneo Street in the Montalparc urbanization, next to the N-II highway. He had just parked his vehicle when a woman, about 30 years old, "with a foreign accent, she could be Romanian or Moroccan" approached him and asked him if she knew of any cleaning jobs.

The conversation escalated and the woman put her hand through the window, opened the car and violently grabbed the man by the wrists, shaking him and also offering to perform the sexual act, while asking him if he was married or single. Finally the victim reacted and pushed him off of her. The woman fled in a vehicle that was waiting for her.

After a few minutes, when the driver had overcome his surprise at the assault, he realized that his watch was missing, a Hublot Super B valued at 15,000 euros, so he filed a complaint with the Mossos d'Esquadra.

Police sources acknowledge that Maresme is not a region where these types of robberies proliferate, which tend to occur more in large agglomerations in Barcelona. However, they point out that police pressure on these criminals in large metropolises, in some cases forces them to move to quieter locations.

The Catalan police themselves recognize that these thieves are not only dedicated to this type of robbery, but can also be part of large organized gangs. In this sense, they do not rule out that they were in Sant Vicenç de Montalt and in Maresme "marking" homes to attack later, as stated by some witnesses to the event, or committing other types of criminal acts, which has activated the police alert in the zone.
