French health authorities are investigating a possible massive but mild poisoning, with some 700 affected, that took place at an Airbus production center, local media reported on Sunday. The Regional Health Agency of the Pays de la Loire region and the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Persons (DDPP) are in charge of this investigation.

Suspicions center on the Christmas meal on the 14th or on the canteen service the following day. Between the 15th and 16th, some 700 workers showed symptoms such as diarrhea or vomiting. The symptoms were sudden but there were no serious cases or hospitalizations, a factory spokeswoman told local press.

However, the regional newspaper Ouest France reported stronger symptoms in some cases, as several workers had to be in bed for several days. On the 14th, a gastronomic Christmas meal was served, which brought together about 2,600 people.

Those affected are workers at the Airbus plant in the town of Montoir de Bretagne (west), dedicated to the production of airplane fuselages sections that are then sent to the company's assembly lines in France, Germany, the United States and China. .
