They cancel the Mad Cool Sunset after not finding a substitute for 'Rage Against The Machine'

The organization of Mad Cool Sunset 2022 has confirmed the cancellation of the first edition of the festival, scheduled for this September 10 at the Ifema fairgrounds, due to the cancellation of the tour of the band Rage Against The Machine.

This has been communicated through a press release by the organization of Mad Cool Sunset 2022, which has detailed that "after evaluating all possible options" they have made the decision to cancel the festival with the aim of being "as honest as possible with the public as with the rest of the bands that were going to be part of this Mad Cool Sunset”.

The decision comes as a result of the band Rage Against The Machine announced on August 11 the cancellation of its tour of Europe for medical reasons. According to the statement issued on the festival's official social networks, "despite the efforts made in this period of time, they have been unable to find" a substitute band.

The Andalucía Big Festival, which also had the band on its bill for September 8, announced hours ago the replacement of Rage Against The Machine by the performance of C.Tangana, Franz Ferdinand and Suede, a decision that has sparked controversy in social networks.

"We understand that the cancellation of the main 'headliner' of Madcool Sunset has been a disappointment and a modification in the plans of many of the attendees, since the purchase of tickets had, in many cases, the objective of being part of the return of RATM to the stages of our country”, they have announced from Mad Cool Sunset.

From Madcool Sunset 2022 they have also clarified that they are already "working and in continuous contact" with the Californian band to "be able to have her back as soon as possible".
