They ask a man for 47 years in prison for offering drugs and gifts to minors in exchange for sex and raping one of them

The First Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands will judge between this Monday and Tuesday a 36-year-old man accused of offering drugs, money and gifts to minors in exchange for sex and of raping and threatening one of them.

The trial will begin at 9:45 a.m. The Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of 47 years in prison for several crimes of prostitution and corruption of minors, cyberbullying, sexual assault, threats against public health and possession of child pornography.

In his writing, the prosecutor describes various episodes that affect at least seven minors. Thus, he accuses the man of having offered money to a minor under 12 years of age in exchange for having sexual relations, in December 2019. The defendant even scheduled an appointment with her that was frustrated because the victim's brother read the messages and filed a complaint. The Police located the defendant at the place where he had met with the minor.

In August 2020, he allegedly contacted another minor, aged 14, posing as a 17-year-old boy under a false name. According to her prosecutor, to convince her to meet alone he told the minor that she would give him money and gifts.

The plan was interrupted when the accused's own partner reported to the Police that he was meeting minors through social networks to have sexual relations with them. The woman advised the victim that the boy she was talking to was actually an adult who was cheating on her.

The prosecutor records two other episodes of similar offers to minors, in December 2019 and September 2020.

That same month of September, three minors between 14 and 16 years old were walking in the Arenal area and contacted the accused to buy marijuana. Continuing with the prosecutor's version, the defendant met one of them in a park and gave her free marijuana, telling her that he would pay her another time; Two days later they met with him again to buy marijuana and one of them, 14 years old, went up to his house alone.

According to the prosecutor, once there the man would have given her more marijuana than they had agreed upon, and when the teenager tried to leave the house, the man would have demanded that she "please him" in exchange for that extra. When the minor told him that she would not do anything with him since "he could be her father," the defendant closed the door, grabbed the victim and forced him to perform fellatio on her, under threats.

Afterwards, he allegedly demanded that she strip naked to have sex and she begged him to let her go, promising that she would not report him. The prosecutor maintains that the man threatened that if she told anything he would kill her and her family, and that when he realized that the minor had blocked him on social networks, he contacted one of her friends warning that if they reported "a bullet "It was worth one euro."

When his phone was turned over, 581 photographs of pedophile content were found, in addition to suspicious Internet searches and incriminating messages.

In 2021 a Court revoked his passport. Restraining orders were also issued in favor of the minors, but the prosecutor's letter does not state that the man was placed in provisional detention. The accused had a record of other crimes.

In addition to the prison sentence, the prosecutor requests compensation of 12,000 euros for the rape victim. He also proposes for the accused a disqualification from activities that involve regular and direct contact with minors and probation measures when he leaves prison.
