Yesterday, Thursday, a patrol from the Patraix police station arrested a 56-year-old man who attacked his romantic partner with a katana. The events occurred around 3:00 p.m. yesterday, when two agents from the Local Police of Valencia were attending to a traffic accident at the intersection of Misser Rabassa and Poeta Maragall streets.
According to municipal sources, the victim ran and screamed to ask these two agents for help. She was visibly upset and said she had been attacked and threatened by a man, and she also had bleeding wounds and signs of violence on her body.
Quickly and, after requesting a support patrol to room 092, they moved to the scene of the events (C/ Poeta Maragall 7), a home where both had lived for two years, and the aggressor was there. Apparently they had had a strong argument, so the victim had decided to leave the home. Hours later, upon returning home, the victim found his attacker with another woman and, at that moment, the argument broke out.
The man took the 105-centimeter katana and dealt her several blows, in addition to punching her twice in the ribs and pushing her so that she could not flee. Before getting away from the attacker and leaving the home, the attacker hit him again from behind with the katana.
After what happened, the man was arrested and the victim was transferred to the Doctor Peset Hospital to have a chest x-ray performed, thus beginning the victim care protocol.
