The Consell has approved this Tuesday the dismissal of the regional secretary for Security and Emergencies, José María Ángel, appointed by the previous regional executive, and has appointed Ángel Javier Montero for this position. For this position, which depends on Interior and Justice, which is managed by Vox, a former charge of the Valencian PP has been appointed. Likewise, the cessation of the general director of the Interior, Salvador Almenar, also chosen by the Govern del Botànic, has been agreed, and Arturo Alepuz has been chosen for this position.

This was announced by the spokesperson for the Consell, Ruth Merino, at the press conference after the plenary session that this executive held in Castellón. The regional manager, who has thanked the services provided by those leaving the Valencian administration, has specified that these dismissals and appointments have been made at the proposal of the Ministry of Justice and Interior.

This department of the Generalitat has also appointed María Belén Pulgar Guitérrez as general director of Attention to Victims and Francisco José Aparici as general director of Fire Prevention.

On the other hand, he has announced that at the proposal of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Bartolomé López has been appointed as regional secretary of this department. Leticia Sanchis has been appointed general director of Agricultural Production and Livestock and Inmaculada Concepción Marco, general director of the Agri-Food Industry and Chain.

Likewise, the Minister of Finance, Economy and Public Administration, has indicated that at the proposal of the first vice-presidency and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Luis Cervera Torres has been elected as general director of Sports.

This appointment is joined by the one proposed by the second vice-presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing for the General Directorate of Dependency and the Elderly, which will be held by Beatriz Simón. In addition, Ernesto Fernández will be general director of the Entitat Valenciana d'Habitante i Sól (EVha).

The Consell has also given the go-ahead, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, to the appointment of Mariola Penadés as General Director of Research and Innovation.

Regarding the Department of Environment, Water, Infrastructure and Territory, Merino has detailed that María José Martínez has been chosen as general director of Infrastructure and Urban Projects.

In addition, from this department of the Generalitat Vicente Martínez Mus has been appointed general director of Coasts, Ports and Airports, as well as Jesús Gual Sanz -general director of European Funds- as member of the board of directors of the Port Authority of Metropolitan Transport of Valencia on behalf of the Generalitat.

Ruth Merino has highlighted that the new Consell has already appointed "90 percent" of its senior positions, in reference to the regional secretaries and general directors. The spokeswoman has specified that "there are only ten" of these positions to be appointed and has assured that "next week or shortly the pending" appointments will end, while pointing out that these, "due to various circumstances, have not been able to be carried out cape".

The minister has commented, with regard to appointments in the instrumental public sector, that "each ministry is in charge of different acts" and has said that it is "the minister on duty who knows each circumstance, of each director general or of each member of the boards of directors and of other types of entities" of that part of the autonomous administration.

For this reason, the representative of the Consell has stated that based on that "those decisions are being made". Asked by the regional secretary for the Economic Model and Financing, María José Mira, and in case she remains in her position, Merino replied that she "continues to work" and that "she is focused on her regional secretary" with all the areas that fall under this department, he specified.

Also, asked if the new Consell has allowed a lot of time to pass from its constitution to carry out the appointment of regional secretaries and general directors, its spokesperson has considered that "it has not waited that long".

"It seems to me that we have done a job of looking for the best, as always, in a difficult period such as the summer holidays and we have appointed more than 90 percent of senior officials of the Consell," he stated.

After this, Ruth Merino indicated that the time that had passed seemed "an adequate time" and assured that "all areas and directions have continued to function normally."

On the other hand, when asked about the claim of exalted officials of the previous Council regarding the payment of their vacations, the spokesperson for the current Valencian government has replied that this is not known to her. However, she has indicated that "the workers have the right to claim what they consider necessary" and she has said that "they will be treated accordingly."
