The waves of the Costa Brava attract surfers

I share in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this photograph taken this morning from the beach of Santa Margarita in Roses, in the Alt Empordà region.

Today a gray overcast day dawned, without wind, but with a sea with enough waves to encourage surfing, as we can see in the images.

It really is not very common to see surfers in Roses because the ideal conditions do not usually exist, which seems to be the case today for those who want to enjoy this aquatic practice.

Surfers can check the wave forecast, by time slots, to find out when the best time to practice their favorite sport might be.

Other sports modalities that are gaining more and more followers are paddle surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing.

The bay of Roses is embedded between Cap de Creus and the Montgrí massif. It is the case that, since 2011, it is part of the select club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, a distinction endorsed by Unesco.
