Madrid residents will be able to request medical appointments in an "intuitive, complete and agile" way from any mobile device through a new application that will be incorporated into the Virtual Health Card (TSV).

The Minister of Digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, announced the launch of this update, already active in a first phase as of tonight, during his speech at a Madrid Information Breakfast organized by Europa Press.

Specifically, this first phase includes the 2.5 million Madrid residents who do not have any person linked to them in the application. "It seems like a smaller figure but it could represent the entire population of a small country," said López-Valverde.

Subsequently, access will be given to the rest of the population in a second phase that will begin when the Delegated Card option is incorporated into the TSV as a new functionality. The Virtual Health Card is available on Play Store, App Store and AppGallery.

The inclusion of the Medical Appointment application in the TSV will allow you to request a consultation from any mobile device in the same space where Madrid residents already have all the information about their procedures and health procedures.

This new update seeks a more agile and intuitive navigation to request an appointment and with a more precise offer of available times. To do this, a global view will be offered on the mobile device screen of all pending queries and you will be able to choose the one on which you want to make a modification.

Thus, citizens will have a global view of all pending tests on the initial screen and will be able to select the one on which they want to make a change, reschedule or cancel, without having to enter each specialty agenda, as has been done until now.

Likewise, it will offer the possibility of quickly and accurately accessing the calendar of available slots, with four options in Primary Care, all the available possibilities in the case of breast cancer screening or the closest date for Hospital Care. OTHER BENEFITS

The organ donor card, the European Union coronavirus vaccination certificate, the current vaccination schedule in the Community of Madrid and the health program for the early detection of cervical cancer are now available at the TSV.

It also makes it easier to know the location and evolution of family members who have been admitted to the emergency room, are hospitalized, or are undergoing surgery.

In addition, it allows you to opt for video consultation, to be able to be treated by a doctor electronically without having to go to a health center, and to be able to access data such as prescribed medication, clinical reports, analyzes or reports of work incapacity of the holder of the card.

In parallel, the 'My reference centers' section offers Madrid residents information about their health center, Home Care service and reference hospital.

The mobile application will include satisfaction surveys, in order to gather citizens' opinions and be able to implement improvement plans for the assistance and benefits offered by the Health Department of the Community of Madrid.

The Community was the first region to make this tool a reality, which was especially useful during the pandemic. More than 3.2 million Madrid residents have already downloaded the application and more than 4.74 million have the one that allows them to request an appointment.
