The very tough tackle that cost Nacho another expulsion

Nacho Fernández was one of the novelties of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti against Alavés compared to the last game against Villarreal. The white captain came on for the injured David Alaba and completed a defense in which the Italian did not have any more healthy players from the first team. However, he was unable to finish the match after seeing a red card, his second of the season after the one in Girona.

With the game leading, Girona had tied hours before, and with the game already in the second half, Nacho stomped on Samu Omorodion's Achilles heel, which cost him a direct red card. As in Montilivi, the center-back showed his most violent face and went to the locker room first.

However, it was the VAR that had to warn the referee that the very harsh tackle was worthy of expulsion, since in the first instance it had resulted in a yellow card.

Samu Omorodion was left stretched out on the ground hurting from the hard blow and had to be treated first and then replaced. Nacho apologized to the Alavés forward. For the next match Ancelotti will only be able to count on Rudiger as a pure centre-back.

This is the second time that a late tackle has cost Nacho expulsion. In the first he seriously injured Portu, Girona forward, in Mendizorroza it is still too early to know the consequences of his excessive violence.
