The tragedy that occurred on a soccer field in Indonesia, with 125 dead as a result of riots that began in the stands of the Kanjuruhan Stadium, has left dramatic images. Injured people trying to flee, others confronting the police, and a lot of destroyed urban furniture, in addition to several burnt-out cars, are the protagonists in the harsh snapshots left by one of the blackest chapters in sport.
The tear gas launched by the police into the stands, to try to dissuade the confrontation with a group of radicals who wanted to attack the players of their team, has caused an avalanche that has claimed hundreds of lives. After the riots, the Indonesian people have taken to the streets to pay a heartfelt tribute to the deceased.
