The technological electric moped that seems to come from another galaxy

The world of electric two-wheeler alternatives has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, driven primarily by the needs of new riders. Many of them demand sustainable displacement solutions, as well as lightweight and good performance.

To satisfy these preferences, a good number of manufacturers have launched to develop electric vehicles that combine features of motorcycles and bicycles to give rise to proposals capable of appealing to many new customers. Along these lines we must situate the latest from the British firm WAU, an electric moped that surprises for various reasons.

Baptized with the name of Cyber and taking into account its appearance, it is evident that it is not a creation that seeks to go unnoticed. With an aggressive, muscular design, dramatic lighting package and oversized wheels shod on off-road tires, it's clearly looking to turn heads wherever it goes.

All of these elements take the Cyber away from the traditional look of a conventional bike and make this new vehicle more like a rugged dirt bike from the future. Apart from its particular “look”, it should not be overlooked that the Cyber is offered in three different versions in terms of electrical performance.

The first variant is equipped with a 250 W Bafang motor capable of offering 95 Nm of maximum torque and a top speed of 25 km/h. The second version has a 750 W motor that can reach up to 45 km/h maximum. Above them is the most performance alternative of all, whose performance already makes it a motorcycle (it is not considered a moped).

In this case, the name becomes Cyber 5000 and is intended for those seeking a higher level of adrenaline at the controls. This third variant, which integrates some specific features beyond the engine, has a power of 5 kW and is capable of a top speed of 90 km/h. Among the commented own characteristics, a more optimized suspension and smaller wheels stand out.

This particular version will be powered by a 2.8 kWh and 60 V battery with a range close to 100 km. Meanwhile, the 250 W proposal features a 1 kWh, 48 V battery that will offer a range of up to 320 km. For its part, the 750 W version will have a 1 kWh and 52 V battery that will provide a range of 260 km.

In any of the three cases, the batteries can also be used to power small devices on the go. The price of the novelty of WAU starts at 2,733 euros in the lower power alternative. You can see the vehicle in full action in the video that accompanies this article.
