The Tax Agency has already returned three quarters of the negative declarations

The Tax Agency has returned 4,895 million euros to 7.4 million taxpayers in the first two months of the 2021 income campaign, 73.4% of the amounts requested in this period.

In a statement sent this Wednesday on the occasion of the start of the face-to-face attention of the income campaign, the Tax Agency details that since the start of the campaign on April 6, 13 million taxpayers have filed their declaration, a 1.28 % more than on these same dates last year.

Most of these declarations, 9.2 million, requested a refund (1.56% less), for a total amount of 6,669 million euros (1.69% less), of which 7 have already been paid, 4 million (0.39% less) for an amount of 4,895 million (0.35% less.

3 million tax returns have also been delivered, 9.07% more, amounting to 3,790 million euros, 18.78% more. The rest are negative settlements or others.

Most taxpayers have filed their return electronically, through the Renta Web program or the Agency's mobile application, an option chosen by 365,000 taxpayers, 1.6% more than last year.

Another 968,000 taxpayers have requested an appointment to prepare the return by phone through the "We call you" program, of which 739,000 have already been delivered.

As of this Wednesday, it is also possible to go in person to the offices to file the declaration, provided that you have an appointment.

The last day to present the income statement corresponding to the 2021 financial year is June 30, except in the case of settlements to be paid by direct debit, which must be delivered before June 27.

The Tax Agency expects to receive 21.9 million declarations in this campaign, the majority (14.35 million), with a refund request amounting to 11,122 million.
