The small Cala Calafató on the GR-92 route

Cala Calafató is a beach located in the Baix Ebre region and is quite far from the urban center of this area, it can only be accessed by walking through a pine forest.

This cove is small, it is barely more than 20 meters long and 15 meters wide, making it a good spot to relax and enjoy the tranquility.

It also has different services. We can find in high bathing season: surveillance, lifeguards, medical supplies, showers and even a small restaurant.

As we can see in the photograph that Elisabet Arias Castillo has shared in the Photos of the readers of La Vanguardia, it is a very beautiful and cozy place, and in the case of the reader she has accessed this cove via the GR-92 route.

The GR-92 route, also known as the Mediterranean Trail, is a long-distance path that follows paths and roads along the entire Mediterranean coast of Spain. It begins in Port-Bou and extends to its connection with the GR 7 in Tarifa.

This trail runs through four Autonomous Communities: Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia. In the case of the Catalan section, signaling began in 1992 and covers 580 kilometers.

The route of Valencia follows the ancient Roman road, the Via Augusta, with about 425 kilometers of route. The route in Murcia covers 180 kilometers from El Mojón to Cuatro Calas and, in Andalusia, it goes from San Juan de Terreros to Tarifa.
