The red trio: Montserrat, la Mola and Montseny

Reddish sky and fog with the silhouettes of Montserrat, La Mola and Montseny. This is the succession of three images that we can see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos from a perspective captured from Lladurs, in Solsonès.

The color of the sky is due to the candilazo, a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors ranging from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.

The rocky massif of Montserrat is traditionally considered the most important and significant mountain in Catalonia. With a maximum height of 1236 meters at the peak of Sant Jeroni, this mountain rises abruptly to the west of the Llobregat river.

For its part, at the summit of La Mola, at 1104 meters high, is where the 11th century Romanesque monastery of Sant Llorenç de Munt is located.

Finally, the peaks of Montseny are Agudes and Turó de l'Home. It is one of the busiest and most popular natural parks, largely due to its proximity to the Barcelona area. The pronounced reliefs it presents and the rich ecological variety stand out. For this reason, in 1978 UNESCO declared it a biosphere reserve.
