The PSC sees Puigdemont's "personalism" overcome and will outline its plan to "unite and serve"

This Tuesday, the PSC presented the party's pre-campaign image for the Catalan elections on May 12. A poster with the photo of the party's candidate, Salvador Illa, along with the motto "unite and serve", with which the socialist formation wants to emphasize the need to overcome a "lost decade" due to the process, "recover excellence in public services" and show that Catalonia "has already overcome personalisms", in clear reference to Carles Puigdemont. With this objective, the socialist candidate will offer a conference this Thursday in Drassanes in Barcelona in which he will outline his political proposals to govern Catalonia.

In that conference, Illa will give an account of her proposals for a future government at the head of the Generalitat. She will therefore be focused on concrete measures in the different areas where the socialists identify clear shortcomings and in which she will include his proposal for Catalonia to improve its financing. Illa "will explain our country model, a comprehensive model, in which she will make reference to all areas, including financing," said the deputy first secretary of the PSC, Lluïsa Moret.

The leader explained that this is a conference in which the candidate will explain his plan to "recover the normalization of institutions, coexistence in Catalonia", and in which he will place the need for good management at the center. With this proposal, the PSC offers ordinary voters "a brave and prudent vote." With caution because "we do not build castles in the air but rather we propose realistic and achievable proposals", and "if there is one thing that characterizes Illa, it is that it complies", explained Moret.

The PSC has presented the new image that the party will show off in this electoral period prior to the start of the campaign, which will begin on April 26. From then on, Illa's team plans to launch a new image with a new motto "more of a campaign", according to the party management.

In this way, the socialists have divided their electoral image strategy into three moments. First, with the motto Ara Toca Catalunya (Now It's Catalunya) with which they held the ordinary congress in mid-March, a congress that elevated Salvador Illa as the PSC candidate for these elections and again as the first secretary of the socialist formation. The image presented this Tuesday responds to the second moment, while the third will begin with the campaign itself.

With the new motto, the PSC aims to highlight the need to make up for "lost time" after a decade of pro-independence governments that, in the opinion of the socialists, have neglected the priorities that any government should have, such as adequate care for the public services. It is about returning politics to "eating things," they point out, in reference to needs in education, health, housing, security, infrastructure or ecological transition.

With the motto 'unite and serve', the party aims to address "all Catalans regardless of what they feel, think and where they live", that is, both those who declare themselves pro-independence and those who do not. The mission to unite aims to be, therefore, "a transversal proposal" aimed "at all those who want to turn the page on a lost decade", while with 'serve', the PSC highlights the need for Catalonia to recover the path of "prosperity" and overcome "deficits in daily life", which largely depends on public services and the strength of economic sectors.

Besides,

In reference to the statements of the Junts candidate, Carles Puigdemont, announcing that he will return to Catalonia on the day the investiture debate is held in the Parliament even though he is not the candidate, Moret has responded by indicating that "Catalonia has already overcome personalisms and the personalist proposals" that and "Catalans "need solid and collective projects that put real needs at the center."

And in the case of the electoral debates, after Puigdemont's proposal to hold one in the south of France, the leader has reaffirmed the conditions that her party has set to participate in them, which are based on holding them in Catalonia with the electoral candidates. as protagonists.
