After a year with the Danish Geranium leading the international culinary scene, the British ranking The World's 50 Best Restaurants has announced tonight the new list of the best restaurants in the world for this 2023. It has done so at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, city ​​that has hosted this year the delivery of the most relevant gastronomy awards, and during the ceremony presented by the journalist Olivia Freijo, as many expected, the Peruvian Central (by chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León in Lima) has been proclaimed number 1. In this way, it is the first time that Latin America welcomes the best restaurant in the world in its womb.

The Barcelonan Disfrutar, by Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas from ex-Bullin, is now the second best on the planet after climbing one position in the ranking; and the Diverxo restaurant, by chef Dabiz Muñoz in Madrid, as the third after also managing to climb one position.

Another piece of good news for Spanish gastronomy tonight has been the rise in the list of Asador Etxebarri, by Bittor Arginzoniz in Axpe (Vizcaya), which last year was in sixth position and is now in fourth; and that of Quique Dacosta, from the homonymous chef in Denia (Valencia), who has risen more than 22 positions at once, from position 42 to 20.

The establishment that has risen the most this year in the ranking has been Table by Bruno Verjus (Paris), which has broken directly into number 10, and the Chef's Choice award (the choice of chefs) awarded annually by Estrella Damm has been awarded to Singaporeans.
