The One Heart festival brings gospel to Barcelona in its third edition

The One Heart festival brings gospel to Barcelona in its third edition

"Gospel saves you from going to the psychologist because you sing, you get tired and you forget everything", so clearly explained the pianist and composer Ramón Escalé in the presentation of the third edition of One Heart, the international gospel festival that will be held in Barcelona from April 11 to 16, with a program designed to establish an event in the city that this year will bring together artists and choirs from around twenty countries.

As happened in the previous edition, the zenith of the event will be the concert on April 13 at the Palau de la Música with the participation of various gospel masters such as the American Anita Wilson, the Swedish Joakim Arenius, the English Daniel Thomas and Colin Vassell or the Frenchman Fred Lewin, accompanied by the European Gospel Choir, Esclat Gospel Singers and Messengers.

Under this musical umbrella that already demonstrated its success in the last edition, the One Heart festival has programmed various events related to spiritual singing, some as stimulating as the sung projection of the film Amazing grace, starring Aretha Franklin. A recently recovered classic that will be shown at the Boliche de la Diagonal cinemas with the live participation of the Messengers and Esclat Gospel Singers choirs.

Another novelty that the festival presents this year is the Gospel Meets Flamenco concert, an experiment in fusion between the music of "two oppressed peoples to whom music gives hope", as defined by Ramón Escalé, director of the festival as well as a pianist. and composer dedicated to gospel for the last two decades.

These musical proposals will accompany other events such as the European Gospel Congress or the workshops that will take place throughout April 15 at the Casino l'Aliança on Rambla del Poble Nou.
