The number of visitors to Turó de la Seu Vella in Lleida is close to the number before the pandemic

In 2023, the Turó de la Seu Vella in Lleida received a total of 102,026 people, including visitors and attendees at the events that were organized. This is a historic figure in the monumental complex and it grows by 13% compared to 2019 and 2022.

Specifically, Turó attracted 65,535 visitors last year, 16% more than in 2022 and only 3% less than in 2019.

The number of participants in the events that were held was 36,491, almost 3,000 more than in 2022. In this sense, the director of the Turó Consortium, Joan Baigol, has celebrated that the data confirms the positive trend of the last three years and that the volume of pre-pandemic activity has practically already recovered.

The director of the Cerro de la Sede Vieja de Lleida Consortium, Joan Baigol, has made a positive assessment of the number of visitors and users in the monumental complex during the past year, after the annual activity report provided by the Lleida City Council and the Department of Culture.

Baigol stated that exceeding the threshold of 100,000 people "is always good data", but above all he highlighted that "2019 values" have been recovered. The month in which the most people (9,653) visited Turó was in October.

Regarding the origin of the visitors, 87% are Catalan, while 9% come from other parts of the State and 3% are foreigners.

Among those from outside Catalonia, the most numerous are those from Madrid, who make up 26%, as well as those from Aragonese, Basques and Valencia (14%).

Regarding foreigners, Europeans represent 64%, led by the French. For their part, Americans represent 20% with a predominance of Mexicans. Visitors from Egypt, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, China, among other countries, were also registered.
