The electrification of the vehicle fleet has meant a revolution for the sector, forced to reinvent itself. This has not only caused traditional brands to invest large sums of money and talent to create sustainable and efficient cars, as well as attractive and powerful, but it has also generated opportunities for new players.

There are many emerging companies that are looking for their market niche in this area. One of them is Mullen Automotive, an electric vehicle manufacturer with Chinese roots, but based in California, specializing in passenger and commercial vehicles and also in the production of solid-state batteries.

Their new proposal is called Mullen GT. It is a fully electric-powered sports car with a lightweight carbon fiber body and excellent performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.

Based on the Qiantu K50 marketed in China, the car features an elegant design with a low body with sculpted lines, a rear spoiler (depending on the version) and a front grille inspired by the shapes of a dragonfly that immediately attracts attention. The vehicle features a distinctive black line and several visible carbon details that give it a modern and sporty image.

The Mullen GT is powered by a double electric motor that offers progressive and silent behavior. Its power is around 400 HP and it has four-wheel drive. The car is equipped with a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of approximately 370 km with each recharge in normal driving.

However, the brand claims that its new GT has an exclusive energy recovery system that would allow it to travel, at a uniform speed, up to almost 500 km. The sports car offers a comfortable driving experience, with very stable dynamics and extremely precise steering.

Although Mullen initially announced that his sports car would be considered a supercar thanks to its maximum speed of 320 km/h, finally, due to issues related to homologations, official figures place its top speed at 200 km/h.

To make himself known to the American public, Mullen embarked on an electric vehicle tour in August through different cities in the American country. Before that, he also stopped in New York to showcase his all-electric GT sports car during a special event at the Citi Field baseball stadium.

The brand plans to produce the GT at the former AM General plant in Indiana, where it also intends to build its other vehicles, including the new Mullen Five crossover and the Bollinger B1 and B2 van models. It should be noted that the price of the GT starts at 143,000 euros.

Reservations for the new vehicle are now available and deliveries are expected to take place in late 2025 or early 2026. You can see the sports car in motion in the video that you will find next to this article.
