The naturalist Jaume Sañé died this Friday at the age of 61 while traveling in Alaska, as reported by the weekly El 9 Nou, in which he had collaborated, and confirmed by the family of the fauna and flora expert, who participated on various television shows.

Specialized in nature trips, Sañé, who had three children, was acting as a guide for an organized group of tourists and an illness aggravated and finally caused his death.

"Today Jaume has left us. In Alaska, where he had always wanted to go. A series of complications that didn't have to be anything, has ended with the worst outcome. We ask you to please respect the privacy of the family and avoid the dissemination of wrong information," his family wrote on the deceased's Twitter profile.

Born on September 11, 1961 in Taradell (Barcelona), Sañé studied Biology at the University of Barcelona, ​​although he did not finish his degree to pursue his passion: nature and travel.

Sañé, who toured more than 80 countries taking photographs and filming, was the director, scriptwriter and cameraman of the TVE documentary series Racons de Verd and also collaborated on informative programs on Spanish television such as Giravolt, Impactes, Oxígeno and El Escarabajo Verde, and still He did it on the program What an animal! of the 2.

At TV3 he worked for ten years for the program El Medi Ambient, for which he made more than 600 reports on environmental issues and was director, cameraman and producer of documentary series such as Bèsties, Un món bestial, Xarxa Natura and Kukurota, the first series of dissemination of nature dedicated to children.

He was a regular contributor to the magazine 'Descobrir' and in 2016 he created the author travel agency specialized in nature Matoke Travel, in which he himself served as a guide.
