The probability that a business in one of these locations will suffer a theft is 365.66%. They are Alfara del Patriarca and Poblats del Sur. On the other hand, where it is less likely that a business will suffer a theft, within the metropolitan area, is in Alcàsser.

The report The robberies in commerce. Data 2021, prepared by the Insurance Business Association (UNESPA), has studied the metropolitan areas of the main Spanish cities and València as well as Madrid, Barcelona and Seville enter this analysis.

Municipality by municipality, it states that the cities with the highest probability of business robbery are Coslada (Madrid), Rubí (Barcelona) and Telde (Las Palmas).

In a Valencian code, Torrent occupies the 12th position in the list of towns with the highest probability of shoplifting, being the first Valencian to appear in the ranking. Its probability is 61.45%. In this same list, Torrevieja from Alicante occupies the 21st place with a probability of 35.28%.

And in the analysis of the intensity of robberies in Spanish establishments, it establishes that Gandía is the town with the most serious robberies among cities with more than 75,000 inhabitants, although it should be noted that municipalities with between 50,001 and 125,000 inhabitants have a probability 1.73% of having a theft. In this case, Orihuela follows behind, occupying fourth place.

Regarding the seriousness, he points out that Teruel, Cuenca and Murcia are the provinces in which the most expensive shoplifting occurs in the entire Spanish territory.

And it is striking that by average robbery in shops in the main cities of Spain, Orihuela is the second: in the capital of Vega Baja there was a theft in 2021 worth 3,174.62 euros, the second highest in Spanish territory .

The report puts merchants on notice: "black days" usually occur on dates linked to festive bridges. In the city of Valencia, the day with the most robberies in 2021 was March 23, followed by September 1 and June 21.

In the 2021 crime balance prepared by the central government, robberies in establishments fell by 12.8% in the Valencian Community. In addition, the region presented the second lowest crime rate in the entire historical series, with 44.5 criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants.

According to the report, in absolute terms the most populated provinces are those that suffer the greatest number of incidents. However, if the analysis is carried out in relative terms – if the number of robberies committed is compared with the number of businesses insured – the UNESPA study indicates that the provinces most prone to witnessing this type of crime are found in both Castillas and In Andalucia.
