The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the finding in Viladecans of a boat that corresponds to the characteristics of a narcolancha. It has been found in a remote area of the beach, Catalan police sources have assured La Vanguardia.
According to these same sources, when the boat was found there was no drug inside. But it is a "very characteristic" instrument that serves to disembark illegal merchandise quickly. In this case, it had three engines and a large capacity to store fuel to travel long distances.
Narcolanchas are quite common in southern Spain. But police pressure in that area is making them more and more frequent further north, even reaching the coast of Barcelona on this occasion, they abound from the Catalan police. However, according to the Mossos, they are still "not common" in this part of the territory.
The agents suspect that some conditions in the place caused the drug traffickers to abandon the boat to their fate in Viladecans due to the impossibility of recovering it. They believe that she may have arrived from places like the Strait of Gibraltar. In any case, they have opened an investigation to clarify what happened.
