The mimetic guiding viewpoint of Montserrat

In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we have traveled to the curious viewpoint of El Vilar, above Castellbell. It is incredible how its silhouette is outlined as if blending with that of the Montserrat mountain.

It is also a beautiful and curious orientation table, which is made of wrought iron and points to the massif, with its corresponding toponyms.

Castellbell i el Vilar is a municipality in the south of the Bages region, on the border with Vallès Occidental. The western sector is rugged by the northern foothills of Montserrat, with Turó de Comellats, at 575 meters of altitude, and Turó de Morralius, at 438 meters.

Montserrat is a rocky massif traditionally considered the most important and significant mountain in Catalonia. With a maximum height of 1,236 meters, formed by the peak of Sant Jeroni, this mountain rises abruptly to the west of the Llobregat river.

The municipality of Castellbell and El Vilar is divided into four parts: La Bauma, El Borràs, El Vilar and El Burés. As it is only 15 kilometers from the mountain of Montserrat, it allows you to have beautiful views of the sunrises and sunsets in the massif.

Castellbell and el Vilar are part of the project of the green route for hikers Els 3 Monts, of the natural parks of Montserrat, Sant Llorenç del Munt and Sierra de l'Obac and Montseny. In fact, it is the connecting municipality and natural corridor between the two main parks of Central Catalonia, Montserrat Mountain and Sant Llorenç del Munt i Serra de l'Obac.

In this video we can see below the Montserrat massif with fog like donuts seen from the Serra de l'Obac.
