The mayor of Valencia once again turns her back on Vox and approves the FEMP's 8-M manifesto

After yesterday's embarrassment on social networks due to the "feat" of having managed to get the Valencia City Council not to approve a motion in support of 8-M, this Friday Vox has once again distanced itself from the policies in support of the International Day of Women and has voted against the 8-M manifesto that the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces had promoted.

At the meeting of the Local Government Board, held this Friday morning, only the popular councilors have voted in favor of the text that, among other matters, undertakes to "comply with the measures implemented in the State Pact against Gender Violence ”.

The text that Vox did not want to support urges “local entities to adopt concrete measures to achieve parity in decision-making and end the gender pay gap, put an end to the involuntary bias to which many are forced.” women, ensure the equal presentation of women in all areas of public life and promote a safe and respectful environment for all women and girls.” The text also assumes that "municipalities and councils have an essential role in achieving real equality."

The position of the 'ultras' comes in full celebration of Women's Day, to which the City Council joins with the Fòrum Dona i Esport 2024 in the Crystal Hall and with the visibility that will be given to professional women with the shot of Reyes Martí, at 2 p.m., in the Fallas mascletà.

The gesture also occurs after the video posted on social networks by Juanma Bádenas himself - and deleted by the author some time later - in which the municipal group boasted that the City Council did not approve the motion on the occasion of Women's Day. And in the same context in which the far-right group has eliminated the promotion of women from the training and employment policies of the Valencia Employment Foundation.

"For the first time, women have been erased from labor policies," said socialist spokesperson Sandra Gómez, who insisted that this did not happen "not even in the times of Rita Barberá." Gómez has offered to "reach out to Mayor Catalá, so that she can relax and return to a more moderate position." In her opinion, this "hurts València, but above all it hurts her a lot."
