Every company dreams of a day like the one Globomatik, one of the main wholesalers of new technologies in Spain, experienced on September 28. At an event in its city, Almería, attended by nearly 400 people, the company inaugurated its new facilities, commemorated its 20th anniversary and, in addition, also received the 2022 Economy Award, awarded by the Professional College of Economists of Almería.
Globomatik is a technology wholesaler specialized in computing and consumer electronics, with national capital and headquartered in Almería. It specializes in categories such as smartphones, desktop and laptop computers, components, gaming or image and sound.
The company has more than 5,000 clients/distributors, among which are the market leaders. It has a warehouse with a total area of 16,000 m2 and represents more than 200 national and international brands. With advanced logistics, a personalized and specialized commercial force, it offers integration and dropshipping services.
The company was founded in 2002, in the heart of the city of Almería, with a small store in a premises of just 20 square meters, run by two brothers, Luis and Juan Romero, who had inherited from their father and son grandfather his great desire for effort, perseverance and enthusiasm. Pursuing a dream, they promoted an innovative business, whose main axis was computing. A relatively new sector that, at that time, was beginning to make its way into the daily life of society. Promoted by their love of new technologies, they began to write their story in that small place. And now, 20 years later, and thanks to the efforts of the entire team, Globomatik's sales reach 151 million euros and they have managed to position themselves in the top 10 of the most important wholesalers in the country, both in terms of turnover and infrastructure.
An enormous path that is also visualized in the journey that has taken the brothers from that small store to the new headquarters of Globomatik. They have inaugurated, also in Almería, a warehouse of more than 24,000 m2 with the most modern and robotic systems for storage. and product distribution, which handle up to 200 orders an hour.
Globomatik has a portfolio of more than 5,000 clients and more than 200 partners worldwide, among which are the main technology manufacturers. In fact, the opening event of the new headquarters included the collaboration of brands such as Acer, LG, Nvidia, Sony, Samsung and Lenovo, among many others.
During the event, Luis Romero highlighted that at Globomatik “we demonstrate that one plus one is much more than two.” For his part, Juan Romero confessed that both he and his brother have seen his dreams come true. Something that, he noted, “has not been by chance, but by thinking big, and surrounding ourselves with the right people.” Both also had words of gratitude for their family, friends, clients, manufacturers and other people who have been, and are part, of the history of Globomatik.
That dream fulfilled that Juan Romero explained has also been recognized with the 2022 Economy Award, awarded by the Professional College of Economists of Almería. Its president, Ana Moreno, recognized during the delivery ceremony “the great effort that Luis and Juan Romero have made to get here. They have been able to take advantage of the market situation, with a great effort, both financially and personally,” something that she wanted to highlight due to the presence of many young people: “I don't want them to think that this is easy,” added the dean of the institution.
María del Mar Vázquez, mayor of Almería, was in charge of presenting the award to Luis Romero and Juan Romero, managers and founders of Globomatik, and acknowledged that it was a pleasure to present this award “and reward the entrepreneurship and courage of the people of Almería. “I feel very happy that the Almería brand is being taken so far.”
The president of the Provincial Council of Almería, Javier Aureliano García, closed the event by confessing that he himself was a Globomatik customer when it was just a small store in the center of Almería, and wanted to put on the table the value of a company like Globomatik for the province: “it is a company that could be anywhere in the world, but it is in the province of Almería. “We are very proud that companies like Globomatik are based in our land.”
The musical note of the evening was provided by the flamenco group with Ángela Cuenca singing, Damián Sánchez on guitar and Tania Santiago dancing and the Jazz trio, Ana Bravo. All attendees were also able to taste the La Costa catering, by Michelin Star chef José Álvarez.
After 10:00 p.m. at night, the entire Globomatik team and their guests traveled to the Parque de las Almadrabillas in the capital of Almeria, where they witnessed a magical drone show to celebrate Globomatik's 20th anniversary, which crowned your big night
