The quick intervention of the local Alcoi Police last Sunday prevented a 42-year-old man from throwing his wife from the balcony of the marital home in the presence of their common children, both minors.
The events occurred in the early morning of October 1 when the agents appeared at the scene, alerted by a phone call, according to the town's City Council.
Once at the home, the agents managed to subdue the aggressor, who ended up being arrested. However, due to the severity of her injuries, the woman was treated urgently at the scene by the health services and later transferred to the Virgen de los Lirios Hospital in Alcoi, where she remains in serious condition.
