This year, the Lleida veguería has nine new public nurseries in rural municipalities, openings that the delegate of the Generalitat, Montse Bergés, attributes to the free education from zero to two years.
The new nurseries are in Verdú, Juncosa, San Ramón, El Soleràs, Espluga Calba, Albagés, Torrelameu, Sidamon and La Sentiu de Sió.
In an informative breakfast offered this Wednesday by the Government delegation to the media on the occasion of the New Year, Bergés took stock of the year he has been in office.

In cultural matters, Bergés spoke about the new line of cultural activities for municipalities with less than 1,000 inhabitants. More than 90% (89 towns) have requested the subsidy and this will allow more than 300 shows and cultural activities to be held this year in these municipalities.
Bergés has highlighted the "historic investment" in health that will materialize this year with a major transformation of the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital. 46.3 million euros have been invested in the new Outpatient Consultation building, which will be part of a set of works that in the coming years will modernize the entire hospital park, with a budget of 80.3 million euros.
Regarding the train line between Lleida and La Pobla de Segur, Bergés said that it is an example of "good practice" in suburban management. According to the Government Delegation, the volume of passengers has increased by 34% during 2023. It closed with 372,229 travelers and a part of this increase, 26,900, is attributed to the improvements last April.
