The Lleida-Alguaire airport purchases an electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen

The public company Aeroports de Catalunya, dependent on the Department of Territory, has signed the purchase from the company, Indox, of an electrolyser, a piece of equipment that will be located at the Lleida Alguaire airport to produce green hydrogen from the existing photovoltaic park. The electrolyzer will be available this summer.

In October, a tender was put out for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 100 kilowatt hour electrolyser that will allow the production of green hydrogen from the airport's photovoltaic park.

Territori assured this Friday, in a statement, that two companies participated in the bid and it was finally awarded to Indox, a company based in Anglesola (Lleida) last December.

On January 22, the award was made official with the signing of the contract worth 295,000 euros, not counting maintenance for two years, which has an additional amount of 19,000 euros.

The airport will produce hydrogen from the airport's current photovoltaic park, to use it in the developments planned in the aeroH2ub project, in which the Lleida-Alguaire airport participates; EVARM, which works with alternative fuels, and Aldoratech, which works on industrial applications for drones.
