The living trees of the still life

The agricultural activity of the Urgell fields transfers to the field of art when the fruit inspires a still life, as can be seen in the still life with apples that illustrates the main photograph of this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia produced in the town of the Tarros.

With origins in antiquity, the still life has been popularized in Western art since the 17th century, giving the artist a great deal of creative freedom.

Also known as "still life", it represents flowers, fruits or other natural elements in a certain space. In this case, we see how the apples have gone from the tree to being photographed in a closed space.

But, despite these times of drought, nature is far from dead in Urgell, where fruit trees continue to bear fruit, as can be seen in this series of photographs of my Tarròs fig tree.

The wealth is in the variety of fruit trees that are grown in this region of the province of Lleida, where agricultural activity continues its course today.

In this other series of images we can see the evolution of the growth of different fruits, such as apples, in their various varieties.
