The Los Angeles Lakers, without LeBron James, won the first game of their preseason this Sunday, after three consecutive losses, by beating the Golden State Warriors, on a day in which the Spanish Willy Hernangómez achieved a double-double in victory of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Without James or Russell Westbrook it was Anthony Davis to lead the Lakers with 28 points, three rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes on the court, in a 124-121 win over the defending champion Warriors.

Kendrick Nunn also shone, with 21 points, and Matt Ryan, with 20 points and an excellent performance in triples (6 of 9). Mexican Juan Toscano Anderson contributed six points, three rebounds and two assists.

In the Warriors the best were Jordan Poole, with 25 points, and Steph Curry, with 24 points, although he only hit two triples out of eight. Neither Klay Thompson nor Draymond Green, who took time off after punching his teammate Poole in recent practice, did not play.

In the other preseason games played this Sunday, Willy Hernangómez sealed a double-double of eleven points and eleven rebounds in the Pelicans' 111-97 victory against the San Antonio Spurs.

Trey Murphy dominated with 27 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Zion Williamson had eight points and nine rebounds.

In addition, the Spanish Juancho Hernangómez scored three points, collected two rebounds and gave two assists in the Toronto Raptors' defeat against the Chicago Bulls (115-98), with 21 points from DeMar DeRozan.
