The judge in the Rubiales case charges Pedro Rocha, candidate for the presidency of the RFEF

The head of the Investigative Court number 4 of Majadahonda has just changed Pedro Rocha's status as a witness to being investigated in the framework of the so-called 'Rubiales case', according to judicial sources informing La Vanguardia.

Rocha, candidate for the presidency of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), was summoned today to testify as a witness for 'Operation Brody' regarding the improper use of federation funds by the previous president, Luis Rubiales.

According to legal sources, the instructor has stopped the statement to inform him that he was going to be investigated and therefore, so that his right to defense would not be affected, he would be summoned later with a lawyer.

Upon his arrival, he told the court that he was "very calm, I have come to collaborate with justice." Rocha was the previous economic vice president of the RFEF and has chaired its Management Committee since Rubiales resigned in September 2023 after being banned by FIFA for three years for his behavior in the Women's World Cup final and the non-consensual kiss to the player Jenni Hermoso, who is investigating the National Court.

Rocha had to give explanations as president of the federative economic commission in the awarding of contracts to the construction company Gruconsa, at the epicenter of the plot, as well as the alleged extra costs for the travel of the different teams.

With this new status of being investigated, it will be necessary to see if he can be appointed president because the federation has removed all those investigated in this matter from their duties.
