The impressive electric superbike equipped with its own “sense of sight”

Electric mobility continues to grow and there are more and more possibilities that this area offers when it comes to choosing how to get around, whether on four or two wheels. During the beginnings of electrification, performance was secondary, since the priority was placed above all on the autonomy of the vehicles. However, that situation has changed significantly.

Lovers of fun and strong emotions on wheels now have a wide range of electric options with spectacular performance and, in addition, equipped with the latest technology. One of those examples is found in the TS Ultra, an impressive superbike from manufacturer Verge that occupies the top of the firm's small range of electric motorcycles, which also includes the TS and the TS Pro.

It should be noted that the TS Ultra battery offers a range that can reach 375 km, a spectacular figure for a motorcycle and that even exceeds that of many electric cars. In addition, it must be taken into account that, using a fast charging socket, the battery can be recharged in a record time of just 25 minutes.

The battery powers a motor integrated into the rear wheel, which also does not have spokes, which helps to give the motorcycle an even more futuristic and sophisticated appearance. But having great autonomy and an innovative rear wheel are not enough reasons to classify the TS Ultra as a superbike. And this requires high performance and a high level of performance.

In this sense, it should be noted that the motorcycle's electric motor has an extraordinary power of no less than 150 kW (that is, the equivalent of 201 HP) and a spectacular maximum torque of 1,200 Nm that is obtained from the first moment. All this means that it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and can run at a speed of 200 km/h.

Everything reviewed so far is truly surprising but there is still another argument to consider the TS Ultra as a very special vehicle. This is the system called Starmatter. It is not a part or any type of gadget, but a software package that runs an innovative artificial intelligence system that learns as the motorcycle is driven.

This is because it combines said AI with a series of sensors (from GPS to accelerometers) and a human-machine interface to allow the driver an unprecedented level of information about their situation on the road and what is happening around them. Among other circumstances, it warns you when a vehicle is coming from behind and even when said vehicle is changing lanes.

At the prestigious CES 2024 technology fair in Las Vegas, held this week, Verge has presented an improved version of the TS Ultra and this system, which in its latest version includes new features such as the presence of six cameras as well as front radars and high resolution rear. For this reason, the manufacturer claims that it is "the world's first motorcycle with a sense of sight."

As Verge has stated, the first deliveries of the TS Ultra to customers will be made during the last quarter of this year. This technological marvel on wheels is now accepting reservations and its price is 55,329 euros. If you want to know more details about this electric motorcycle, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
