The Department of Education has announced the amount of the voucher for school supplies, which will cost 60 euros per primary and secondary student. In this course, families with children in primary school have received the voucher worth 100 euros, which could be spent on two purchases, to exchange for books, dictionaries, stationery and writing items, calculators, backpacks, sports clothing and games educational. Those from the ESO had been excluded from the measure that sought to help families with the general rise in prices.
For this year it was planned to cover both educational stages, reducing the amount of the voucher to 70 euros.
However, the lack of the Generalitat's budget for 2024 prevents compliance with this commitment and the Department of Education has decided to maintain both stages and reduce the announced amount by 10 euros. The 60 euros can be exchanged in establishments with two checks for 30.
This universal aid had been criticized by unions and other groups precisely because it does not distinguish family economic income. Likewise, schools and families had requested that the voucher could be delivered to the educational centers in compensation for the payment of the fee or as material. Next year it will be able to move to schools.
In total, in this course 451,533 students have used the voucher, which represents 95.10% of the total.
Specifically, 849,619 vouchers have been exchanged and 2,039 establishments in Catalonia have joined.
