The Francisco Franco Foundation disguises its original statutes to avoid being illegalized

The fear of being illegalized has motivated the Francisco Franco Foundation (FNFF) to abandon its original foundations to include a statutory modification that allows it to circumvent the extinction directive that the Government intends to carry out in the coming days.

The subterfuge used is the inclusion of a statement in which he assures that, from now on, he will act with "maximum respect for the victims of any significance of the historical period of Spain between 1931 and 1977."

As Servimedia has advanced, the FNFF estimates that this statutory makeup can serve as "legal shield against the Democratic Memory Law" and thus stop its illegalization. An imminent extinction announced this Friday by the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, understanding that "a space, a place, remembers, honors, boasts of someone who was a repressor, does not make any sense within democracy"

However, the FNFF says in its article that in a democracy "the consideration of ideas prevails, wherever they come from, freely and with respect for those who think differently."

Last February, Torres himself announced that the Government will do "whatever it has to do" to outlaw this foundation, although he avoided specifying dates of when it will occur. When asked about the changes that the foundation is carrying out to try to adapt to the Democratic Memory law, Torres believes that "they will not" be able to avoid the norm.

During an interview on Cadena Ser, Torres set a date for the next steps that the Government will take in terms of Democratic Memory, specifically, it will be next Tuesday the 23rd when his ministry will present to the Council of Ministers the composition of three commissions and other measures. related to the Cuelgamuros Valley, more popularly known as Valley of the Fallen.
