The flight of the bearded vulture with the plane

In La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos we can see in detail the bearded vulture photographed in the Eastern Pyrenees, in the Girona district.

In the first photograph the bird appears with a plane behind it, an image that gives a lot to talk about about the effects that commercial flights have on birds. It was pure coincidence taking that photo.

In the second snapshot you can see how big this bird is, which receives its name from its habit of climbing bones and shells to great heights to release them, break them against the rocks and be able to ingest them for food.

It is a species of bird that is threatened in large areas, so it is fortunate to be able to enjoy these images of its presence in the Eastern Pyrenees.

The bearded vulture is a vulture remarkably different from other similar birds of prey. We can see in detail its large wingspan, which varies between 2.75 and 3.00 meters. Its weight can vary between 4.5 and 7kg.

Characteristics of this species are the long, narrow wings, the long diamond-shaped tail and the fact that its head is covered in feathers, unlike the rest of vultures.
