The Spanish Federation (RFEF) is trying to get the 39 internationals to return who on Friday reiterated their willingness to remain outside the national team if a major restructuring within the federative entity was not carried out in exchange. This afternoon they issued a statement to "urge the players to join this change led by the Federation, understanding that the transformations that must continue must be solid and fair."
A statement that they made public an hour and a half before presenting Montse Tomé as the new coach at an event in Las Rozas in which the list for the Nations League matches against Sweden and Switzerland will also be announced.
In the text, the Federation recognizes “the need to make structural changes” and assures “it shares the same objective as the players: the renewal and the beginning of a new stage where football is the great beneficiary of this entire process.”
The Federation "guarantees a safe environment for the players" and asks them for "mutual trust" to "work together and ensure that women's football continues to progress much more strongly", but does not announce any concrete measures.
The players were very clear in their reasons, collected in five points of which only one has been fulfilled, the resignation of Luis Rubiales. This is the only head that the footballers have asked for since the rest of the changes they ask for consist of the restructuring of four areas, never the dismissal of any person. That is, the 39 signatories want to be sure that none of the people who participated in the pressure on Jenni Hermoso will continue to be linked to the female in any way.
