The names of the winners of the FAM Culture Pop Eye Awards that have been announced today are: Honor Award, Serrat; Living the Pop Era Award, Dover; Revelation Award, Nebulossa; Novel Award, Agustín Pery "Txalaparta" and Musical Book Award, Fernando Navarro "Everything that matters happens in songs." These are the winners of some of the categories that were revealed today at the official presentation of the seventeenth edition of the FAM Cultura Pop Eye Awards: the National Music and Arts Awards, at the Casa de Valencia in Madrid.

Some names that join those of the Valencian DJ, musician, producer, showman and writer Chimo Bayo and the Portuguese group Birds Are Indie who were the first winners confirmed by the jury of this year's Pop Eye Awards.

The gala, which will be held for the first time in the city of València, at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía of the City of Arts and Sciences of València, after 16 years of being held in Extremadura, expects to be attended by more than 1,400 people.

As a sign of the support for these awards from the Valencian institutions, the Councilor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment Acquisition, Paula Llobet, participated in the presentation, representing the Valencia City Council, the Valencia Provincial Council and the Generalitat. Also participating in the event were the director of RTVE's La2, Laura Folguera; the presenter of the gala Juanjo de la Iglesia; the film director Fernando Colomo; the Valencian artist Chimo Bayo; the singer, songwriter and leader of the band Dover, Amparo Llanos and the head of Press and Communication at Fam Cultura, Carmen Lorenzo.

The Councilor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment Acquisition, Paula Llobet, explained that the Valencian institutions support these awards because “the fact that this gala is held in Valencia is a recognition not only of the cultural wealth that our city has, but also to the vitality, the innovation it exudes, and the tourist attraction that has made us position ourselves as one of the best cities in the world to visit and also to live.”

“The Councilor for Culture, José Luis Moreno, and I work together to consolidate València as a cultural and musical destination of reference at a national and international level, and we believe that events like this, which recognize the talent and career of prominent art figures and culture, help us achieve this objective,” stressed Paula Llobet.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports also shows its satisfaction at the celebration of these awards for the first time in Valencia. The regional secretary, Paula Añó, emphasizes that the event not only contributes to consolidating Valencia as a city of culture, performing arts and music, but also reflects the commitment of this Department to turn the Community into an international benchmark for music. and the performing arts.

"València is creating a brand with running, but let's remember that from this department we also want to take it a step further in culture, with this type of events about music and performing arts, which have the desire to be one more action within what It will be our strategic bet for the Community", he stressed.

Likewise, he highlighted that the organization of the awards "is an example of collaboration between administrations", since it has the collaboration of the Generalitat, the Valencia City Council, the Provincial Council of Valencia and the Association of Interpreters and Performers AIE.

In previous editions, the Pop Eye Awards have awarded artists such as Loquillo, Miguel Rios, Fernando Savater, Cayetana Guillen Cuervo, Adolfo Dominguez, Javier Mariscal, Ana Bethlehem, Carlos Saura, Veronica Forque, Rosa Montero, Jesus Cimarro, Jeanette, Micky, José Luis Garci or Kiko Veneno, in their different categories of music, literature, art, cinema, exhibitions, audiovisuals, record companies, TV, radio, festivals, publications, photography, theater, fashion, etc.
