The Consell charges against Diana Morant: it accuses her of not defending Valencian interests

The Valencian Consell, of the PP and Vox, yesterday offered glimpses of the argument that will be activated if the Minister of Science and Universities, Diana Morant, is elected as the new leader of the PSPV to replace Ximo Puig in the complex primary process opened in the federation socialist. The Valencian vice president, Susana Camarero, who served as spokesperson for the Consell yesterday, outlined it with a forceful criticism, in which she asked Morant to "take advantage of his seat in the Government so that at every opportunity he has he tells Pedro Sánchez to bring financing, to fight for water, to ask for investments and infrastructure in state budgets".

Camarero, who is also responsible for the Equality and Social Welfare policies of the Generalitat Valenciana, challenged the minister to "show that she really cares about the Valencian Community" and that having a Valencian minister "is useful for something." He asked that "a lady who is a minister of the Government of Spain, but she is Valencian, fight for the issues that really matter to us Valencians."

The vice president regretted that the minister stated this weekend at the PSOE convention in Galicia that there is "a setback in the equality rights of Valencian women." "It is unfortunate that she says this, when she also belongs to a Government that has brought the greatest setback in the equality and protection of women," said the vice president. She also accused her of launching "hoaxes" about equality policies in the Valencian Community, and reproached her for her "lack of rigor."

The vice president stressed that Morant is part of a Government that "has divided feminism like never before in history" and has approved the law "that has done the most damage to the women of this country" and to equality, that of 'only yes is Yes, it has led to the release of more than 130 rapists and a reduction in sentences to more than 1,200."

As head of equality for the Valencian Government, he stated that he is concerned that a Valencian minister is dedicated to "spouting these hoaxes" at a national convention of her party, and has considered that "it seems that she knows little about this Community." Camarero claimed that, in the six months that the current Consell has been governed, the 24-hour Women's Centers have been put out to tender to serve victims of sexist violence; He is executing the funds of the State pact, which "were unexecuted"; and is implementing the 5 million euros of European funds to fight against sexual violence.

"We are advancing rights, fighting and giving our all to defend the rights of women victims of gender violence, but also working on conciliation and co-responsibility, without sectarianism or seeking electoral gain," Camarero added.

He also regretted that the vice president of the Government María Jesús Montero criticized at that convention in A Coruña the physical appearance of the PP spokesperson, Miguel Tellado, because it is "in very bad taste, it is inappropriate for a minister and it is irresponsible" and because "not everything okay" and this "is not jokes".
