The Catalan theater critic released a statement this Wednesday in which she points out that the production company Nostromo Live has eliminated the free seats that are usually reserved for critics, at the premiere of the musical by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix The producers.
The long list of professionals who sign the critics' statement considers that this decision is "an unprecedented measure in the theater sector and a professional attack on the group."
For its part, the show's producer, Nostromo Live, responded in a statement that "in no case has access to the production of The Producers to Catalan theater critics been or will be prevented."
The producer adds: "We take this opportunity to remember that any of the professional groups of cultural journalistic information, including critics, may request the invitations, discounted tickets or 'press seats' that are necessary to carry out their activity in the best possible way. way possible through the Teatre Tívoli / Balañà en Viu team, and that these will be managed according to the possibilities of the show's capacity."
Likewise, Adetca, the Association of Theater Companies of Catalonia, has stated that "it has always collaborated, collaborates and will continue to do so with the media and the press, whom we consider an essential agent in the value chain of the performing arts ". And he celebrates that this small crisis has been redirected with the production company's statement.
María José Balañá, theater director of Balañá, declares that "I did not know anything about this controversy until this morning" and that "in no case will entry be prevented to any professional who requires it to do their job."
The producers, which premieres on September 28 at the Teatre Tívoli in Barcelona, is a large-format musical, devised by the authors of hits such as Singing in the Rain and La Jaula de las Locas.
