From this massif of the Cordillera Prelitoral Catalana located between the regions of Vallès Occidental and Bages we can see the Mediterranean Sea.
At the summit of La Mola, at 1104 meters above sea level, is where the 11th century Romanesque monastery of Sant Llorenç de Munt is located, which was abandoned at the beginning of the 17th century and looted by Napoleon's army in 1809.
This same week it was learned that the Barcelona Provincial Council will invest 2.6 million euros until 2026 to condition the environment and reduce the "current overcrowding and the strong environmental impact" in La Mola, which will entail closing the restaurant that has been linked for the last 57 years, a decision not without criticism.
According to the Provincial Council, 177,000 people visited the summit between September 2022 and the same month of 2023, but 300,000 visit different areas of the park annually.
