The beautiful shelter of Fabra and Puig

I admit my ignorance regarding Fabra i Puig. For many years I was not curious to know the merits of who had deserved to have dedicated public places in the Catalan capital.

But, lo and behold, walking through Masnou, in the Maresme, I can delve deeper into the personality of Romà Fabra i Puig, promoter of the Fabra Observatory and the Fabra i Coats factory.

He also contributed money to the creation of the Charity House, where they treated soldiers returning from the war in Africa. Fabra i Puig became Marquis of El Masnou in 1922, a title granted by Alfonso XIII.

And so I was able to visit the Bellresguard estate, where the Casa del Marquès, a neoclassical palace and the romantic garden of Parc del Lac, stand out, as we can see in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

In this place I was delighted with the presence of a group of friendly little turtles, also portrayed in this report. Exceptional modernist example, the Casa Benéfica.
