On the night of March 8, lawyer Inés Guardiola presented the appeal against the sentence of the Court of Barcelona and, in addition, the request to hold a hearing to resolve the release of the convicted person, until resolutions are made. the resources.

As far as it has emerged, this was the first appeal to be presented and it may take between four or five months to be resolved, a time that the lawyer trusts that Alves can spend in freedom, taking into account that the sentence is less than five years in prison. , who reduces the risk of escape and who has already served more than a year of preventive detention.

In this way, the Brazilian is practically on the verge of having served a quarter of his sentence, which would allow him to begin requesting prison permits.

After the sentence was made public, it also emerged that the Prosecutor's Office would appeal because it disagrees with the reparation to the victim, rejecting the assessment made by the court that the 150,000 euros that the player deposited before the trial serve to mitigate the sentence. For her part, the victim's lawyer, Ester García, also announced her intention to appeal.

Apart from the four and a half year sentence, the Barcelona Court imposed on Dani Alves a fine of 150,000 euros in compensation, supervised release for five years after leaving prison and the prohibition of approaching the victim for a period of nine. Years and a half.
