The author of the attack in Algeciras insists before the coroner: "I see devils"

The Moroccan Yassin Kanjaa, confessed perpetrator of the jihadist attack perpetrated on January 25 in two churches in Algeciras (Cádiz), underwent a psychiatric examination this Thursday before the forensics of the National Court, whom he has insisted, as He already said on some other occasion, when he sees "devils".

The interview with the forensics has lasted approximately one hour, during which they have been asking him questions to determine if he suffers from any psychiatric disorder for the purposes of his imputability, and among other things he has claimed to have visions of demons, sources have reported to EFE legal.

To undergo this forensic examination, this 25-year-old man already had to be examined by a forensic examiner, who determined that he was in a position to give a statement, although now it is a question of examining him in greater depth, as agreed by the reinforcing magistrate of the Central Court of Instruction 6, Joaquín Gadea.

To carry out this analysis, forensics have had to collect data on the medical history of this Moroccan, who was pending deportation, and who apparently had a psychiatric history in his country.

Once these data have been analyzed and with the result of the interview, the two physicians will issue their opinion to the judge, who, in light of the forensic report, will decide on the conditions of imputability of the person investigated.

On the other hand, the magistrate has agreed to extend the secret of this cause for a month and has admitted the personación as popular accusation of a series of associations, such as the Asociación de Víctimas del Terrorismo (AVT), Vox or Abogados Cristianos, among others, if you pay 3,000 euros of guarantee.

Next month, on the 17th, 21st and 24th, the judge plans to question 19 witnesses, among them the priest Antonio Rodríguez, one of the four injured in this attack, and who has been summoned in person, as well as than to another of those affected in the attack on the churches of San Isidro and La Palma, so that both give a statement as injured parties.

The judge believes that the evidence gathered so far supports that the action can be classified "as a jihadist attack directed both against priests who profess the faith of the Catholic Church and against Muslims who, according to the investigator, do not follow the precepts of the Koran."

At the moment, everything seems to indicate that Kanjaa would have acted alone and without the help of third parties, as he himself acknowledged in his statement, and the magistrate believes that, at this initial moment of the investigation, it can be affirmed that the person under investigation would identify himself with "a self-indoctrinated terrorist profile acting individually not directly linked to a terrorist organization".
