The Valencia City Council has ordered the prohibition of driving on the tracks and paths of the Devesa de El Saler forest mass, as a consequence of the activation, by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) of the red warning for high temperatures, which locally can exceed 44 degrees in various parts of the Community, throughout the day of this Thursday, August 10.

The Valencia City Council has ordered the prohibition of driving on the tracks and paths of the Devesa de El Saler forest mass, as a consequence of the activation, by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) of the red warning for high temperatures, which locally can exceed 44 degrees in various parts of the Community, throughout the day of this Thursday, August 10. The total restriction of movement through this natural area in the south of the city extends to any type of vehicle, bicycle or on foot.

Jesús Carbonell, councilor for the Security and Mobility Area of ​​the Valencia City Council, has asked the public "not to try to access La Devesa from this Thursday until the 15th, because the accesses will be closed. All this with the ultimate goal of preserving the green jewel of the city”.

These measures have been taken as a consequence of the declaration of pre-emergency level 3 of the Special Plan against the risk of forest fires of the Valencian Community (PEIF) throughout the territory of the Valencian Community, from Thursday, August 10 to Tuesday, August 15. August 2023, both inclusive. These restrictions in the Albufera Natural Park do not affect vehicle traffic for management, supply, maintenance, surveillance, access to residences, farms or service facilities located within the park itself.
