Tenerife wins the first leg of the playoff semifinals against Las Palmas

Tenerife has channeled the tie with a win by the minimum against UD Las Palmas who, although they slightly dominated their rival throughout the first half, could not prevent the Blue and Whites from getting ahead on the scoreboard, with a goal by José León in the 36th minute.

Although the start of the meeting was a bit tedious given the caution or, better yet, the intention of both of them not to lose, it became more animated as the minutes passed, especially in the last ten minutes that were vibrant, not only because the goal of the locals but also for several dangerous occasions.

The yellow box promised them in the first moments of the second period with a clear control of the game, but that context did not last long, since again it was the locals who not only exercised greater control but also managed to approach the area rival with much more danger.

The lack of showiness in the game mainly benefited the yellow box, which became the dominator of the ball, and as a result of a sporadic offensive action came its first great opportunity, a shot by Jonathan Viera (m.27) was cleared by Moore on the same goal line, after the ball passed Soriano.

Tenerife's reply came immediately after, a center by Alexander from the right was finished off by Enric Gallego to the Valles crossbar, but the second shot with authentic criteria did reach the yellow net (.36), this time it was León who finished off inside the area, but Mfulu grazed the ball and completely fooled Valles.

But of real intensity, or better yet, the final moments of this first period resulted in real delirium, first with a frank shot by Enric Gallego that Valles cleared, and just a few seconds later it was José León who took the shot on the same goal line a shot by Jesé, with Soriano totally surpassed.

In this vibrant way the first period ended, to resume later the game with an almost similar tactical outline, but with a much more expeditious cadence, since as soon as the ball was put into play it was the yellows who were able to tie, but the crossed shot Kirian was cleared by Soriano.

What seemed to be a favorable dynamic for the visiting host lasted just five minutes, since the people of Tenerife adjusted their tricks to take control of the situation, almost surrounding the rival in their own field, but the yellows also knew how to get rid of this siege from twenty minutes of play.

A frank shot from Robert (m.69) that Soriano cleared safely, and another dangerous long shot from Kirian a minute later, which went wide, were two clear signs of the visitor's ambition, but in the end they didn't have enough to score and match this more than disputed first game.
