Susana Gisbert, new prosecutor for Democratic Memory and Human Rights in Valencia

Susana Gisbert is the new deputy prosecutor of the Democratic Memory and Human Rights section at the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Valencia. Her appointment adds to the position she already holds as deputy prosecutor for Hate Crimes and anti-discrimination, and the Violence Against Women section of the Prosecutor's Office.

Gisbert, who has been in the judicial career for 28 years, has served in the Violence against Women section from January 2006 to date and in the Computer Crime section between 2014 and 2018, continuing today. as a link between both sections.

The appointment highlights that his new position has many analogies with the other areas in which he works, "in terms of its foundation and purpose." The appointment is derived from article 28 of Law 20/2022, of October 19, on Democratic Memory, which creates the figure of the Chamber Prosecutor for the investigation of events that constitute violations of International Humanitarian Law, including those that took place on the occasion of the coup d'état, the War and the Dictatorship.

As a prosecutor, he will be assigned the functions of promoting the search processes for the victims of the events investigated, in coordination with the bodies of the different administrations with powers over this matter to achieve their "proper identification", among others.
