Sunsets in Cala Cavalleria in Menorca

This series of images in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos shows the charm of the sunset at Cala Cavalleria in Menorca, quite a spectacle.

In this area we find one of the largest beaches on the north coast of the island of Menorca. La Cavalleria is almost 500 meters long and its sand has a reddish tone. It is divided in two by the Escull de Ferragut.

This cove is very exposed to the north winds and stands out for its dune system, which extends towards the south. But, as can be seen in the images, it is also surrounded by a rugged landscape, watched over by the Cavalleria lighthouse.

Cavalleria beach has a high geological richness, where clays stand out, as in corners such as Cala Pregonda or Cala Pilar.

The space is accessible by the road that leads to Cape Cavalleria, but given the presence of fragile dune systems, direct motorized access is not possible and it is necessary to follow a path on foot for about 5 or 10 minutes to access the beach.
