It became very fashionable among the elites of the time and shortly after it became popular among the rest of the population. At the end of the 19th century, in Barcelona, ​​there was an important English colony, and two of its members, George Smither and J. Muller, decided to import this game and build a tennis court in the city, thus Lawn Tennis Turó was born. which would later be Club Turó.

Six years passed and the club moved its location, and it was King Alfonso XIII who inaugurated the new facilities and granted it the royal title. In 1968 it moved again due to lack of space to its current location, on Avenida Diagonal, at that time it already had 18 tennis courts and 2,500 members. It was not until 2003 that the David Lloyd Leisure group took over management of the club. In the change, the old building was maintained and a new building was built from scratch to house fitness sports, they also expanded the number of tracks and decreased the number of partners to offer a much more exclusive service, a fundamental characteristic of the brand.

Currently, it has 12 outdoor tennis courts and 12 outdoor paddle tennis courts, and although racket sports are still the most important, they are combined with other indoor sports, such as: pilates, cycling, aquafitness, meditation, hiit, among others, with state-of-the-art equipment and directed activities in a recently renovated gym.

The David Lloyd Club Turó is much more than a gym, as it is a fundamental part of the social and tennis life of Barcelona, ​​among its members it has had historical players of Spanish tennis, such as Emilio Martínez or Pilar Barril, both champions of Spain.

The club is aimed at a wide range of audiences, from those who want to practice sports in the gym, on their own or with qualified personal trainers, to families looking for a quiet space where they can go together, or those who want to enjoy a luxury spa. , in addition to being able to socialize with others while in a pleasant environment and excellent service.
