Spring in its purest form in the Vallès

Spring in its purest form in the Vallès, where the flowering fields burst with color around the hermitage of Santa Maria, on the Las Torres de Lliçà de Vall estate, as can be seen in these images in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguard.

Les Torres is a large farm that works as an agricultural colony with tutelary purposes for young people.

In a corner and separated from the neighborhood by a small forest, is the hermitage of Santa Maria del Vallès, which stands out from afar for its whiteness.

It is the private hermitage of this estate. It can be reached by a walk from inside Les Torres.

Around 1925-1928, the chapel of the Virgin of Roser was built, for which the complex began to be known as Santa Maria del Vallès or de les Torres.

In one of the books by Ramon Albó, who in 1928 founded the Obra Tutelar Agraria in Lliçà de Vall, it seems to be understood that the architect would be the renowned Enric Sagnier (1858-1931), who also signed the project for the Bella Plana farmhouse .

The interior of the chapel has an altarpiece dedicated to the Virgen de la Roser, with an image by the sculptor Gomara and paintings by Darío Vilás. The altarpiece was made at the initiative of the secretary of the Junta de Menores.

A pilgrimage and meeting of the Roser was held in the chapel, in which neighbors, students and ex-students participated.

There is a tradition that says that when the chickens laid their eggs, the women brought them before the altar of this chapel so that they could be given the type of bird that best suited them, whether it was a rooster or a hen.
