Sinéad O'Connor's premonitory last message just 10 days ago: "I live as an undead nocturnal creature"

The news of the death of the Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor at just 56 years old continues to generate all kinds of reactions. The artist, who has published ten studio albums throughout her career, is one of the great music references of the last century and, as such, her tributes do not stop happening.

His family was responsible for announcing his death, without clarifying the causes. However, the artist's death comes just 18 months after her son Shane took his own life at just 17 years old. Shortly after her death, she was hospitalized after tweeting: "I have decided to follow my son." She had already attempted suicide on at least two occasions.

A feeling that resurfaces a few hours after his death, after a Twitter account has brought to light a publication by the artist herself in which she confessed that, since the death of the young man, "I live like an undead nocturnal creature". .

The singer assured that Shane "was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were a soul in two halves. He was the only person who loved me unconditionally"; her insisting that she was "lost" without her child.

From the moment of Shane's death, the artist has never been the same. When he heard the news of the teenager's death, he wrote a heartfelt message on his social networks that hinted at his grief: "My precious son, Nevi'im Nesta Ali Shane O'Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end today his earthly struggle and now he is with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love him so much. Please be at peace."

The singer stated at the time that she had wanted to end her life for several years and only her psychiatrists and doctor kept her alive.

After the death of her son, whom she always described as "genius" and "extremely special", the artist decided to take refuge in her music and confessed to her followers that she was working on a new album, which hopefully would see the light of day in 2023. and would have her on tour in 2024 and 2025. The singer had moved back to London after more than two decades outside the English capital, and seemed eager to resume her musical activity.

However, her mental health problems - the Irish woman was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and tried to commit suicide on several occasions - aggravated by the absence of her son, seemed to make a greater dent in the artist.

The artist had four children. Her eldest, Jake Reynolds, was the product of her first marriage to John Reynolds. After him came Shane Lunny, with the Irish folk musician Donal Lunny, and Yeshua, the result of her relationship with the American businessman Frank Bonadio. The artist also has a daughter, Roisin Waters, with journalist John Waters.

"I have four children from four different fathers, only one of whom I married, and I married three other men, none of whom is the father of my children," O'Connor joked in his memoir Rememberings, where he also described her children as "unusual, intelligent, loving, compassionate, spiritually advanced, funny, valuable, and hard-working human beings," as well as being tremendously proud of them.
